I was really looking forward to making this birthday decor set- not just because I love this theme, but because I love these babies! Jack & Kate's mama, Rebekah, is one of my oldest and dearest friends. We have been friends since college, got our first apartment together, and have been through so much through the years! Nothing made me happier than being able to contribute to her sweet twins' first birthday celebration.
These smash cake photos are by Katie Mrozinski Photography in Northwest Indiana.

First, cake toppers. I love the little variations between the two- Jack & Kate are such different personalities. They definitely needed some individualism in their birthday celebration! And how cute are these cakes?
The book page banner and jungle leaf garlands shown here are by Empty Nest Home Goods, while their mama created the cute "wild things" cutouts for the backdrop!
Jack is a fan of the icing!
And not content to have just his own...
Next up, high chair banners! I love how Rebekah was able to incorporate these into the photo shoot as well as the party. I had been holding onto a little bit of licensed Where the Wild Things Are discontinued fabric, waiting for the right project to come along. As soon as I heard their theme, I knew this was what I wanted to make with it. Again, I wanted these to be a little different for each child, but both match the Max's crown print fabric nicely. Look at these sweet dolls!
And here you can see the high chair banners in use for the party!
So much of our decor can be used for the smash cake session, then again for the party, and then even added to a nursery or play room! I always recommend purchasing a theme you and your child like, with names versus "Happy Birthday" so that you can reuse it in your home decor! I strive for a quality that makes using your decor over and over an obvious choice! When you invest in a small handmade business purchase, we want you to get highest quality and value.
Here you can see how the book page banner and leaf garlands from the photo backdrop were used again in decorating their home for the party!
And finally, one of the extra touches included in the party decor were these matching cupcake toppers! (Max & boat food pick was by mom Rebekah!)
